BCM’S ART ACTIVITY KITS
Brooklyn Children’s Museum is distributing free art kits in partnership with Women In Need, Kingston Family Residence, United for Brownsville, and other Central Brooklyn community partners. The Museum’s Our City Activity Kit is based on BCM’s popular Our City exhibition, which was on view to the public in 2016, and highlighted the work of artists Brooklyn Hi-Art! Machine, Aisha Cousins, Elizabeth Hamby, James Rojas, Priscilla Stadler, and, Rusty Zimmerman. Activity Kits include art supplies, materials and a project booklet.
To date, BCM has distributed nearly 1,000 kits with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, The Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation, New York State Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and our amazing community of members and individual supporters. Thank you to all who contributed to help us make art kits and supplies available to our community! The Museum is planning for a second kit, Block Party, to be distributed in fall and winter 2020.
If your foundation, company or organization is interested in partnering with Brooklyn Children’s Museum on kit production and distribution, please reach out to Vice President for Exhibits & Education Hana Elwell at firstname.lastname@example.org. Kits can be purchased in units of 25 or more at a cost of $20 per kit, and can be co-branded with your organization’s logo. We regret that we cannot sell individual kits at this time.
