Animal Yoga

Embark on a wild and wonderful yoga journey. Led by Danielle Medina, creator of Fit N Play Mama, this playful animal-themed class will have you stretching, bending, and moving in ways you never imagined.

Join Jua Jibu Children’s Theater andBridges: Pan-Afrikan ARTS Movement for an immersive children’s theater experience showcasing African folktales! Learn about the importance of caring for your neighbor and the environment at performances of Anansi the Spider and the Tug of War, Why the Sky is So Far Away, and The Elephants are Marching.
Animal Encounters

Say hello to BCM’s live animals at this program led by our expert animal maintainer and educator, Sarah! Get a personal introduction to some of BCM’s most fascinating creatures, and explore native and non-native animals you might find in your own backyard!
Ti Atis with Haiti Cultural Exchange

Join Haitian artist and storyteller Nathalie Jean-Baptiste for a reading of Trogon’s Song of Hope featuring live drumming. Families will then create their own block prints inspired by birds, foliage, and natural themes using styrofoam, plates, pencils, and paints.
Community Earth Cloth
🕒 10:15 am – 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Visit the ColorLab Art Studio and make a dynamic collage inspired by the glittering tapestries of artist El Anatsui. Create your own Earth Cloth using muslin, paper, and foil. You’ll take home your artwork, or contribute it to our Community Earth Cloth, and learn the artistic skill of making a collage with recycled materials.
Be Like Bamboo
🕒 10:30 am – 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Visit BCM’s STEM Makerspace and learn how engineers take inspiration from bamboo to design buildings that can withstand earthquakes. Build your own skyscraper using popsicle sticks, straws, and air-dry clay, then test its stability and strength with our earthquake simulator.
