Take part in Haudenosaunee social dances, create your own beadwork and pottery, learn traditional mush making, and shop at our Native artisan marketplace.

Artist Marketplace

North American Indigenous Center of New York will be featuring a wide range of Native American artists and vendors. Explore traditional crafts and art that are available to purchase.
Dance Party with Diné Composer, Kino Benally
🕒 Sunday and Monday: 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Join Diné composer and DJ Kino Benally for a celebratory dance party featuring songs created collaboratively during workshops earlier in the day!
Dreamcatcher Making Installation

Leave your mark and add onto our large collaborative dreamcatcher installation.
Indigenous Food Demo: Corn Shucking Workshop

Indigenous Food Demo: Traditional Mush Making Workshop

Join Chef Emma in an interactive workshop celebrating Indigenous Foods. Chef Emma will teach participants how to make traditional mush with different ingredients. Participants will also be able to take some with them following the workshop.

Engage in the craft of beading by creating your own beadwork creations with the North American Indigenous Center of New York.
Sound & Music making workshop with Dine Composer, Kino Benally
🕒 Sunday and Monday: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Make music together with composer Kino Benally. In this workshop kids will be able to create a collaborative piece combining everyone’s ideas and focusing on rhythm through percussion instruments and vocal melodies. Participants will develop their creativity and strengthen their ability to collaborate!
Terracotta Pottery
🕒 Sunday and Mondays: 10:15 am – 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Visit the ColorLab Art Studio and make your own terracotta pinch pot or coil pot inspired by Native American arts.
Traditional Woodlands Dance: Performance with Ongwe’hon:wehkah Smoke Dancers
🕒 Sunday and Monday: 11:30 am – 12:15 pm, 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm
Immerse yourself in the traditional Haudenosaunee Longhouse Socials with various Northeastern Social dances and songs. The head dancers will also be sharing the cultural foundations and knowledge in relation to the songs and dances.
