Family Music Concert Series
Saturday afternoons, 9/18–10/9
Four artists, four messages. Join us this fall at BCM’s first annual “We Got Something to Say” Family Music Series, where Brooklyn families connect to Black artists who are using music to inspire change. Hear what each artist has to say while enjoying dance, food, community art, and award-winning family music.
Sunday, September 26
Did you know that each year on Sukkot, Jewish people all over the world build temporary shelters called Sukkahs and welcome friends and neighbors to join them inside for meals and festivities? This year, we welcome you to join us as we celebrate Sukkot with live music by Josh and the Jamtones, storytelling, and more! Take a walk through our rooftop Sukkah to learn all about the holiday’s origins and how people celebrate today in Brooklyn and around the world.
Buy Play Session Tickets
Get tickets to Brooklyn Children’s Museum! Play Session tickets allow families to explore BCM’s signature exhibits including World Brooklyn, Neighborhood Nature, Totally Tots, Collections Central and The Nest. Every Play Session includes access to our ColorLab art studio, where families have the opportunity to explore print-making, collage and sculpture projects inspired by artists such as Elizabeth Catlett, Richard Hunt, Faith Ringgold and Kehinde Wiley, among others.
Play Sessions are 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and 2pm-5pm on Thursdays. The Museum is closed between 1pm-2pm for cleaning.
Due to necessary repairs, our building is experiencing warmer temperatures than usual. We encourage visitors to bring a water bottle and be prepared for limited air conditioning in our space.
For our Play Sessions, we currently provide free or discounted tickets to Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC), Cool Culture, Culture Pass, EBT/SNAP card holders, healthcare worker, NYPD, FDNY, Military Families, teachers, corporate members and several other partners. To book tickets under these programs and partnerships, please visit BCM in person and we will provide you tickets for that day or for a future date. We reserve a block of tickets for these partners to ensure there will always be access for our partners.
All tickets are non-refundable. Tickets can be exchanged up to 72 hours prior to the event date, based on availability. Due to strict capacity limitations, BCM regrets that tickets may not be available on your chosen date.
BCM has an outdoor roof canopy, and in general programs happen rain or shine. If a program is canceled due to weather or other circumstances, BCM will notify ticket-buyers as soon as possible. If the event is rescheduled, tickets will be exchanged for the new date. If the event cannot be rescheduled, tickets will be refunded.
Tickets will not be refunded if a visitor is asked to leave Brooklyn Children’s Museum because they do not comply with BCM’s Safe Space Policy, our Health & Safety Protocols, or federal, state or local laws. We ask that you review these policies with your family prior to your visit.
