Halloween at BCM

Halloween is back at BCM! Join us Saturday, October 28 for a day of costumed fun and trick-or-treating around the Museum’s exhibits.

Visit our Mad Scientist Animal Menagerie with BCM’s own animal maintainers, learn about some creepy crawlies at our Insect Meet-and-Greet with Dr. Aaron Rodriques, enjoy a witchy performance of The Smack-Dab in the Middle of the Day Show, catch a free screening of Muppets Haunted Mansion, and finish the day with a costume dance party on our rooftop with DJ Annie Red.

Mad Scientist Menagerie

Come meet dragons, flying serpents, and more with mad scientists Sarah and Camille. Together they’ve gathered a collection of spooky beasts in a spectacular menagerie like no other ever seen! Fear not: Though these animals are rare and mysterious, they are accustomed to meeting — even being petted! — by future mad scientists like yourself.

Spooky Critters

Bug out with entomologist and scientist Dr. Aaron Rodriques! You’re invited to observe, photograph, and handle Dr. Rodriques’ live collection of icky insects and creepy invertebrates while he answers any questions that you may have.

The Smack-Dab in the Middle of the Day Show: Halloween Special

Experience a very special Halloween-themed puppet talk show presented by The Smack-Dab in the Middle of the Day Show! Meet kooky characters, sing catchy songs, and learn fun academic strategies while building key social-emotional skills. Best for children 4–8.

Magic with The Muse

The Muse is back at BCM, but this time they’re trading the circus for the magic show! Come delight in performance featuring magic and tricks that’s sure to have you asking how it’s possible.

ColorLab Project

C-Stunnas Mask-Making

Design your own whimsical eyewear, aka C-Stunnas, inspired by the work of Kenyan artist and eyewear sculptor Cyrus Kabiru. Make Halloween-inspired eyewear using paper, cups, and other fun materials.
