Peter and the Wolf

Join Allison Mari’s Woodwind Quintet for a family-friendly adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Presented by the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. 

Tin Can Banjos

Join the Beam Center for an afternoon of instrument making. Participants will be making tin can banjos, a workshop designed and led by Beam Mates. The workshop will include some light woodworking, instrument design, and music making!

Musiquita: Bilingual Musical Adventure

Create music in this hands-on workshop led by New York Philharmonic teaching artists. Learn music fundamentals like pitch, rhythm, and dynamics, then perform an original collaborative composition using percussion instruments.

Cosmic Explorers

Create dynamic astronaut puppets inspired by the Afrofuturistic sculptures of artist Yinka Shonibare! Use materials like reflective cardstock, patterned fabric, and brass fasteners. What might you discover when you explore new places or ideas? 

It’s Rocket Science

Learn how scientists design spacecraft to travel among the stars! Build your own space shuttle and test its aerodynamic design with a launch pad. Will your shuttle successfully enter the atmosphere?
