This year Brooklyn Children’s Museum is celebrating its 15th annual Kwanzaa celebration, presented in partnership with Brooklyn-based Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation.
Join us on the second day of Celebrate Kwanzaa as we travel to Charleston of the 1960s to discover how the Gullah people inspired Kwanzaa as we know it today. Featuring music by a steelpan band, hip hop dance classes, how-to cooking demos of Southern collard greens, child-accessible theatrical readings of Amiri Baraka’s biography, and more.
