Storytime and Bomba with Raquel Ortiz

Join author Raquel Ortiz for a special program that celebrates Afro-Puerto Rican culture through reading, singing, dancing, and drumming.

Participants will learn basic bomba rhythms and dance moves to dance along to songs from Dr. Ortiz’s new bilingual children’s album Que vengan los niños. This program will also include a reading of Dr. Ortiz’s bilingual picture book, When Julia Danced Bomba / Cuando Julia Bailaba Bomba. Free copies of When Julia Danced Bomba will be available to families who attend!
