Making Brooklyn Beats

Explore sounds with us, as we create beats that make you move your feet! Rock to world instruments like the stlorotloro (mouth harp), mbira, shakere, xylophone, various drums, and whistles. Create your own shaker to attach to your hands or feet and make your own resilient percussion beat. Led by PitsiRa Ragophala.
Printing On Da Block
🕒 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm
Bring your imagination to Printmaking on Paper! Use block printing techniques and everyday materials to create a collective mural inspired by your family and communities. Led by Apryl Bruce.
Yoga for Kids

The Yoga For Kids workshop focuses on breathwork, meditation, stretching and play as we go on yoga adventures to the jungle, under the sea, and more. Led by Carmen Carriker.
Silver Linings: Triumph of Loss

Silver Linings: Triumph of Loss is a multidisciplinary dance piece that explores our perspectives on loss. This moving ritual invites participants to reflect on what they can gain from loss to find the strength and inspiration to move forward. Performed by Kendra J. Ross Works.
Terracotta Busts

Create a clay bust of yourself inspired by the work of artist Augusta Savage. Use terracotta air-dry clay and sculpting tools to reflect your appearance, interests, and dreams in your self-portrait.
Rovin’ Round the Moon

Learn why the moon has spots! Build your own moon rover using wood blocks and metal washers, then test its four-wheel drive. Will your rover successfully cross the surface of the moon?
