I Am Thankful Celebration Weekend!

Join Brooklyn Children’s Museum for two-days focusing on gratitude during the harvest season. Activities include story-telling, card-making, and hands-on exploration!

Saturday, November 18

 

Thankful Tree

10:00pm to 2:00pm

Think about all of the things you are thankful for, as we come together to collectively create a tree of gratitude.

 

Block Lab

10:00am – 1:00pm

This fall BCM’s 2nd floor Block Lab invites visitors of all ages to develop spatial reasoning, engineering and language skills through block play. Play with our giant, blue Imagination Playground blocks, and enjoy an assortment of language arts blocks in Spanish, English, Hebrew, French and American Sign Language. Explore artist James Paulius’ Sky Village installation, featuring house-shaped blocks and pegs in the clouds.

 

City Growers at BCM

2:00pm to 4:00pm

Join City Growers for a family guide in setting up your own worm bin! Activities include small exploration/observation plates or dishes, magnifying glasses, and all of the materials that make a worm bin successful, and possible right in your own home!

 

Sylvia’s Story Corner: Art & Story time

3:00pm to 4:00pm

Join a BCM Educator for this interactive story time and card-making activity. Books will focus on family and celebrating time together!

 

Live Animal Adventure

4:15pm to 4:45pm

We’re grateful for our animal friends! Learn about and touch live animals from the Museum’s living collection.


Sunday, November 19

 

 

Block Lab

10:00am to 1:00pm

This fall BCM’s 2nd floor Studio focuses in art and language, and invites visitors of all ages to develop their engineering and language skills through block play. The space features Imagination Playground blocks and an assortment of language blocks on Spanish, English, Hebrew, and French. The space also features artist James Paulius’ house-shaped wooden blocks and pegs for building a Sky Village.

 

Harvest Art

11:00am to 2:00pm

Corn, Beans, and Squash are plants that depend on each other to grow healthy and strong. Join us to explore these harvest crops, and create an art project using these vegetables to stamp and create patterns.
