ArtRink
ArtRink, BCM’s outdoor skating rink and art exhibit, is back this year and better than ever! Grab your winter coat and warmest pair of socks and join us on our rooftop for a magical winter experience in the heart of Brooklyn.
This year, ArtRink is open from November 25, 2023 through Sunday, March 31, 2024. Located on the Museum’s rooftop, the centerpiece of this interactive installation is a 3,000 square foot synthetic-ice skating rink that visitors can glide around with family and friends.
Synthetic ice is a high-density plastic engineered for skating that’s less slippery than natural ice and offers young children the perfect introduction to skating in a way that is more controlled and cushioned to protect from falls. It’s even great for skate-free skating—if you prefer, we have shoe covers available so you can slip and slide around without needing to strap on skates!
Surrounding the rink are sixteen pieces of artwork by local creators, printed as vinyl posters and featured in the windows of BCM’s rooftop terrace. In addition, a series of 5 artist-designed children’s playhouses are placed around the rink, creating an interactive village where children can play and families can pose for photos.
The theme of this year’s art exhibition is “We Grow Together,” and serves to reflect the ways we as individuals and neighbors contribute our creativity, values, and ideas to collectively create positive and healthy communities.
Access to ArtRink skating sessions require an add-on ticket. Visitors are invited to enjoy the art installation and playhouses without a separate ticket. Tickets for ArtRink cannot be purchased after 4:30 pm. Strap on your skates and join us at this one-of-a-kind art & play experience for families and kids this holiday season!
Price
Non-members: $10/person add-on ticket. General admission to the Museum is $15/person.
BCM members: $8/person add-on ticket. General admission to the Museum is free for BCM members.
Skate Rentals
Rental skates are included with your ticket. Sizes are available from youth 6 through adult 13. Or feel free to bring your own skates!
