Did you know that, historically, Cinco de Mayo celebrated the Mexican army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862? Now, on Cinco de Mayo people come together to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage! Join Brooklyn Children’s Museum as we celebrate Mexico with art, music, history, and language. Learn to speak Spanish, create Talavera tiles, and make your own Papel Picado to decorate your home!

Join storyteller Valentina Ortiz Pandolfi for an afternoon of stories and sagas. At 1:30pm, hear the tale of Bigú, a Zapotec turtle who decides to leave her river in search of her house and family. At 2:30pm, join us for the Saga of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god.
