Brooklyn Children’s Museum welcomes school groups for weekday visits Tuesdays through Fridays. There must be one adult present for every five children in the group.

Groups must reserve in advance by filling out our Group Reservations Form or emailing We regret that groups without an advance reservation cannot be accommodated at this time. A 50% deposit made by credit card is required to confirm a spot for your group.

Groups may choose to come for a private play session in the Museum’s permanent and special exhibits, or may select an educator-led program experience.

Private Play Sessions

Have BCM’s signature exhibits all to yourself for a full hour! Group leaders will receive a guidebook to enhance their experience and promote inquiry-based learning in our spaces. Play sessions can be booked Wednesdays through Fridays at 10 am, 1 pm or 3 pm.

$250 per hour, $50 for each additional 30 minutes.

Educator-Led Programs

Join a Brooklyn Children’s Museum educator for an arts and culture or science workshop. Choose from the following programs below.

$250 for an hour-long program. Self-guided exploration of the Museum’s exhibits may be added for an incremental fee.


Amazing Animals, all ages

Our animal friends at Brooklyn Children’s Museum have superpowers! Whether they can regrow a tail or lift 1,000 times their weight, animals have unique gifts that help them survive and grow. Children meet live animals, move their bodies, and explore their own superpowers.

Junior Curators, ages 3 to 5

Join BCM’s Collections staff for a hands-on exploration of cultural objects and science specimens from the Museum’s extraordinary 30,000-piece collection. Choose from one of two programs: Patterns or Me & My Super-Sense Self. Patterns takes a close look at patterns in nature and how people around the world create and use patterns to express themselves. Me & My Super-Sense Self uses collections objects that activate the five senses, and explores how people around the world use their senses to connect with each other and their environments.

Beautiful Us, ages 5 to 8

Wednesdays & Thursdays at 11:00am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm
People around the world use fabric, metal, wood, and other materials to adorn our bodies and to tell the story of who People around the world use fabric, metal, wood, and other materials to adorn our bodies and to tell the story of who we are. Explore the unique and universal reasons we adorn ourselves. Children observe and touch ancient and contemporary adornments from BCM’s collection, and make their own adornments using clay, fabric, and other upcycled materials.


All visitors must abide by BCM’s COVID-19 visitor guidelines. Masks are required for visitors 3 years old and above.

Group size is restricted at this time to 30 people maximum. We ask that groups have a ratio of one adult for every five children.
