Self-guided: $7/each camper
The following programs are available for summer camp groups of children between the ages of 4 – 10. Each program is 45 minutes in length and is led by a BCM Educator. Design and build a marble maze! In this hands-on engineering exploration, children will use a set of ramps to exercise their technical and creative problem solving. Working together, students will experiment by building, testing, and re-designing their creations.
Campers develop communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills— the 4 C’s for the 21st century—in this hands-on program that uses Imagination Playground’s blue blocks and a series of design challenges to transform children into budding architects, designers, and urban planners.
ColorLab Art Studio: The Future is Now
Explore AfroFuturism through mixed-media collage in BCM’s new art studio. Children will be introduced to the work of Brooklyn-based artist Wangechi Mutu, and will build their visual art vocabulary in this hands-on program. Students will imagine their own future world collages using everyday recycled and upcycled materials.
What’s the difference between an insect and any other bug? Children will gain a deeper knowledge of bugs through hands-on activities and investigations of the Museum’s live collection of invertebrates.
Jam to the Music
Sing, chant, and move as we learn about how people use music and dance all over the world! Children will explore instruments from BCM’s Collection and discover how their own bodies can be used as musical instruments. Through songs, music making and movement, students will explore rhythm, tone and more.
