Join us in Advocacy Lab, our new program series that promotes social justice, civic engagement, and empowers children to create and advocate for positive change in their communities.

Election Day

Tuesday, November 6
On November 6, adults across New York will cast their votes and elect a new political leader to represent the state. Join us as we explore the democratic process and civic engagement through voting on a new name for a museum animal and writing to our elected officials about our dreams for our communities. Decorate your own “I voted” pin to show the world how you make your voice heard!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Did you know that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is celebrated on the third Monday of January each year to mark the birthday of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Throughout his life, Dr. King worked to achieve equality in America by fighting against racial discrimination. Join the Brooklyn Children’s Museum’s I Have a Dream Celebration as we honor the life and legacy of the iconic civil rights leader and celebrate themes of diversity, equality, freedom, and resistance.

International Women’s Day

Please join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day! Learn about American women and girls who persisted across many fields to become trailblazers, change makers, and leaders in their communities. Draw banners, design signs, and write chants to bring to our BCM Girl’s March and show your support for women and girls everywhere!

Join us for Pride as we celebrate the uniqueness of all kids and families! Learn the history of the Pride in America and discover the movement that fought for the equality of all people. Decorate flags, create art that represents your family, and express yourself through a full day of activities that explore what it means to love and be loved.
