Summer SPARK Classes

SPARK Early Childhood Classes

  • Summer 2017 Session: June 28th – August 24th
  • Sessions are taught by professional Teaching Artists
  • All classes take place at SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 1 John Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver

Tuition: $264 per child (10% discount for BCM Passport Members)

Little Artists
June 28 to August 16, 2017
Wednesday, 10:45 – 11:45am 
Ages 24 to 36 months

Each week children and caregivers are introduced to new artists, explore their technique and materials, and create their own masterworks in this one-hour class in Spark’s art studio.

Taught by: Tirzah Jane Baker
Class size limited to 15 children and their caregivers. Pre-registration required.

Yo Re Mi Musical Yoga
Ages 2 to 6 years

Yo Re Mi is a music, movement and mindfulness program for children and families. In each fun-filled session, we use our bodies, voices, and imagination. Through Yo Re Mi’s unique integration of yoga-based movement and original live music, we collaboratively explore nature, geography, culture, language, rhythm, dance, songwriting and playing instruments.


Lavender Blues Music & Movement
Ages 12 to 36 months

Teaching musician Lavender Blues explores music, movement, and rhythm with children ages 1-3 years in this engaging jam session. During this class, kids develop an understanding of rhythm and music, build awareness and control of their body as well as develop social and coordination skills.


Lavender Blues for Babies!
Ages 0 to 12 months

Teaching musician Lavender Blues explores music, movement, and rhythm with babies ages 0-12 months and their caregivers in this engaging jam session. During this class, babies develop an ear for rhythm and music, recognition of sound and patterns, as well as develop social and coordination skills.
