Partners In Learning
“Partnering with the Museum was great! We had access to the Museum’s collection of animals, skeletons, costumed dolls . . . for our life drawing classes. We’ll be back for more!”

Brooklyn Children’s Museum welcomes short and long-term collaborations with schools and districts. Professional development for teachers or parent workshops can be adapted to suit your needs and budgeting requirements. Current projects include: science inquiry; early childhood learning strategies; pets and plants in the classroom; and utilizing web resources. Participants can tour the Museum’s collections and exhibits; receive printed material to document the professional development activities; or work with a Museum educator in a co-teaching model.
The Resource Center for Parents and Teachers
Located in our Children’s Library, the Resource Center houses books, picture files, periodicals, and videos that can be used to enhance your Museum visit or classroom experience.
Brooklyn Expedition Website
An online resource for your classroom is www.brooklynexpedition.org, created collaboratively by Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Brooklyn Museum of Art, and Brooklyn Public Library. Using a discovery-based model of learning, students can explore the art, cultures, and natural worlds of Mexico and South America; build-a-bug; watch the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge; meet some awesome animals; visit an early Dutch home; learn about the Dewey Decimal system, and so much more!
