      When school’s out, the Museum is the in place to be!  From Friday, December 26, through Wednesday, December 31, enjoy a six-day celebration of light and culture, with different programs each day that explore holidays which incorporate lights and other seasonal themes, such as dreams, wishes, and winter.

      How big is our universe? How is the night sky used to tell stories? Which constellations did explorers use to find their way?  From Greece, to China, to the Americas, people have looked to the sky to give meaning to their natural world. Explore astronomy through mythological patterns and create your own constellation!

      Children and adults can make an original work of art, add it to the Museum’s cooperative sculpture, and watch the mobile come alive with wondrous lights, crystals, shapes, and colors.

      Using colorful ribbons, visitors can write or draw what they’re thankful for—from family and friends to playing together and having fun.

      When You Wish upon a Starfish

      At the beach in the new Neighborhood Nature exhibit, families can inscribe wishes for the world—from less pollution to an end to wars—on paper starfish and watch the wishful colony grow.
