      X-plorers Club: Magical Helpers of Ancient Egypt

      Ushabtis—small Egyptian statues representing magical helpers—were placed alongside mummies in ancient tombs. Ushabtis acted as substitutes for the deceased, should they be called upon to do manual labor in the afterlife.
