Totally Tots Studio – Stories and Art

10:00am to 12:00pm | Ages 2.5 – 5

Get your hands dirty and create a handmade card for Father’s Day inspired by the illustrations and stories of Brooklyn artist John Steptoe! Activities invite young artists to build and refine their fine motor skills; engage in the sensory exploration of materials; and, learn how to share with others in this open art studio. There is no such thing as a bad mess in this space, which is tailored to children five and younger.

Brooklyn Block Lab & Studio

10:00am to 1:00pm| Ages 2.5+

BCM’s 2nd-floor Studio focuses on art and architecture and invites visitors of all ages to develop their engineering skills through block play. Space features Imagination Playground blocks, Kapla Planks, and Magnatiles, as well as artist James Paulius’ house-shaped wooden blocks and pegs for building a Sky Village.

Touch Tank

12:30pm to 1:00pm | All ages

Meet and touch live sea creatures like starfish and sea urchins, and learn how they lay their eggs during this live animal program.

Capture This! Insta-Photo Booth

12:00pm to 4:00pm| Ages 3+  

Caregivers get to say “cheese!” with their kids at our pop-up photo booth. Kids pick a prop, take a photo, and leave with an amazing memory. Be sure to stop by the Frame Creation booth to make a sparkly frame that matches the photo!

Make a custom picture frame to go with your picture! Bedazzle your picture frame so it shines as bright as those smiles!

Sensory Room

2:00pm to 4:45pm | All ages

In this inclusive space, children of all abilities can explore their senses through play, including sensory mats, objects, and swings. The Sensory Room is designed to meet the needs of children with sensory sensitivities and/or who are on the Autism spectrum.

3 bean Father’s Day Folktale!

2:15pm to 3:00pm | All ages

3bean Children’s Theatre performs a modern retelling of the African American folktale High John the Conqueror. In this performance, featuring storytelling and live music, an adventurous young man lands a job in a magical but cursed land. Upon arrival, he soon discovers that his employer is an evil troll with an irritable nature and an appetite for humans. Only the help of the troll’s daughter and a series of clever tricks can ensure his safety and ultimate escape.
