Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program 2007
Every summer, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park Zoo, Historic Leffert's Homestead and the Prospect Park Audubon Center offer a unique, full-day summer program for children ages 9-12. The program creates connections between art, science, culture, and the environment. Activities are scheduled at all eight institutions, rain or shine. This season's themes are "Myths and Magic" and "Treasures in the Heart of Brooklyn."
Sessions 1 & 3: Myths and Magic
Puzzle over ancient legends and discover the mysteries of enchantment. Travel back to the beginning of time through art, science and literature – Myths, Magic, and Mystery are on the menu!
Session 2: Treasures in the Heart of Brooklyn
Treasure hunt through the Heart of Brooklyn! Wind you way from clue to clue and unlock the riches of our cultural collections. What gems will you discover.
An optional after-camp program from 3:30-6:00pm is also available, featuring fine and performing arts activities. Children can paint or sculpt; write and perform music; create scripts and produce plays; and examine cultural dance traditions. Transportation between locations is provided, as are drinks and snacks. Campers need to bring their own lunch.
